Record fish catch for grandmother

A partially sighted grandmother has entered the record books for catching an enormous freshwater fish while on holiday in Spain.
Sheila Penfold, 56, was almost dragged into the river when the giant catfish took her bait of halibut pellets while swimming in the River Ebro.
Mrs Penfold from Wandsworth, south-west London struggled with the 8ft 2ins long fish for 30 minutes.
Her husband and son helped her reel in the 214lbs (15st 4lbs) catch.
Mrs Penfold said: “The alarm on the rod went and it [the fish] pulled me to the river edge.
“The adrenalin was pumping, I couldn’t stop reeling it in. When the struggle was over I was shaking all over, my muscles were aching.”
‘Like a monster’
She only realised how big the fish was when she saw it close up.
“It finally came to the river edge and its head came up and that was the first time I saw it. It looked like a monster.”
“When I was told I broke the record I was jumping for joy.”
“I can’t believe what I’ve done. It gives disabled people an incentive – they can still go out there and do things,” she added.
Colin Bunn from CatMaster Tours said: “It was the biggest catch by a woman we’ve ever had.
“Every time she comes on these tours with her husband and son she catches the biggest fish and puts everyone to shame.”
