A DOG walker had a miracle escape after being struck by lightning in Aberdeen.
The woman was exercising her dog when she was hit by the lightning bolt on Scotstown Moor, Bridge of Don.
Her dog, believed to be a boxer, was killed in the freak accident.
A friend of the woman said she was “very distressed” about the death of the pet.
She added: “She is too upset to speak but we believe it was a freak accident that could have happened to anyone. Although she was hurt herself, the lady is very distressed about the dog.”
The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with burns after the strike at 4pm yesterday.
